We use mostly linen, cotton, silk, hemp, and rayon in our garments. Natural fibers have characteristics in which texture variation is to be expected.
Our garments are dyed in small lots, ensuring slight variations between lots. Different fabrics are often combined in a garment, giving the piece a diverse tonal appearance. Our garments are washfast if washed in cold water.
Washing in cold water is always best as less heat provides less wear and tear on the garments. All garments can be washed by hand or machine without shrinkage worries. Use the delicate settings and a detergent that is free of perfume, dyes and bleach (take care not to put detergent directly on the garment). Dry in a machine using the delicate or cool settings, or line dry.
Most of our garments are designed to flow generously over your body; however, our stretch garments are designed to fit close to the body. For a closer fit on non-stretch garments, choose one size down (view our sizing charts). You can contact us for specific measurements of any garment that you see on our site.
In all measurements, be sure tape is not too tight but rather lightly hugs your body.
- Chest — wrap the tape around the widest part of your chest. For a more accurate measurement, ask a friend to hold the tape in place while you stand straight with your arms down at your sides and look forward. When measuring yourself, your raised arms will make the chest measure smaller than it actually is.
- Waist — wrap the tape around the smallest part of your torso (usually near the belly button on women and a little lower on men).
- Hips — wrap the tape around the widest part of your hips (usually 8 to 10 in/20 to 25 cm below the belly button on women).

Alternations are best done by your personal tailor who can fit the garment to your specific needs. Some of our garments come with adjustable features. Please contact us with your questions concerning how easily a garment might be tailored.
Though our website is open 24 hours a day, our offices are staffed Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central Standard Time (CST). Orders placed between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM CST Monday through Friday will be shipped that same business day. Orders placed during any other hours will be processed the following business day. Of course we will make every effort to ship your order as soon as possible — if any irregularities occur we will contact you via email.
Please note that our offices will not be staffed on July 3 in observance of the July 4 Holiday.
Our payment processor accepts American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa.
Please note that charges will appear on your credit card statement as 3 Janes LLC.
We understand that purchasing clothes online without trying it on can be daunting. To ease your anxiety we offer the following return policy:
Special Edition garments may be returned within 5 days of receipt for online store credit only, as these are one-of-a-kind garments. All other garments may be returned within 7 days of receipt for refund or online store credit, whichever the customer prefers.
Customers pay for shipping both to and from Cynthia Ashby, Inc. Shipping charges are not refundable.
Customers are responsible for insuring the package.
We expect that all garments will be returned in the condition in which they were sent. Garments displaying obvious wear and tear can not be returned.
If you decide you are going to return a garment, please contact us with your name, order number, and contact information. We will then issue you a Return Authorization Number (R.A.N.) and email you a return form. Please include that number on the outside of the package according to the sample below and mail the garment (s) to the following address:

For orders outside of the United States, please contact us with your order and the country we are shipping to and we will reply with your shipping costs. We do not offer free shipping on any international orders.
Payment of any duties or taxes on international shipments is the responsibility of the customer.
If an international order is refused or the customer returns an item and we are charged a duty or tax, that amount will be deducted from the credit along with the shipping charges in the case of a refused package.
